Reducing Stigma Toward the Transgender Community: An Evaluation of a Humanizing and Perspective-Taking Intervention

Tompkins will share the results of a pilot study conducted with her students, which was designed to reduce stigma toward the transgender (TG) community. In addition, she will discuss implications of these findings for teaching and future work on changing attitudes toward the TG community. Tompkins, at Linfield since 2002, holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as a master's and Ph.D. from UCLA.
